Abi Griffiths is a highly sought after sports presenter, currently presenting for ESPN, Sky Sports and The Extreme Sports Channel, as well as a host of online sports broadcasts. Through her time training and competing at both the prestigious sports school Millfield and Loughborough University, as well as previously working as a personal trainer, Abi thrives in the sports TV arena in which she now finds herself fully immersed.
In her role presenting Endemol's 'Superleague Formula' on ESPN, Abi reports live on the international championship, which fuses motorsport and football. As the eyes and ears of the pits, Abi has made it her personal mission to uncover the personality and emotion hidden behind the helmet! Abi also fronts and does the voice over for the ESPN magazine show, unveiling the stories behind the races.
From pit-lane to pitch-side, Abi co-presents 'O2 Inside Line' with Austin Healey, giving viewers a unique insight into the England rugby squad, in the build up to this year's Six Nations and Rugby World Cup. In the first series, Abi could be seen interviewing players, including England captain Lewis Moody in the fun, much publicised 'Pub or Tub' feature.
Adrenaline and live action are common themes in Abi's world as a previous reporter for Sky Sport's Speedway. Currently presenting both The MSA Muay Thai Premier League and Cage Wars Championship for Sky Sports, Abi adds a touch of glamour and emotional intelligence to these explosive forms of martial arts.
Abi is about to kick off her fifth consecutive series as host of the FIA European Drag Racing championships for Sky and Channel FIVE, interviewing drivers competing in all classes of this high-octane sport. Prior to this, Abi spent weekends at dirt tracks around the country, reporting at Redbull events as well as presenting the adrenaline packed show 'Blood, Sweat and Gears' on The Extreme Sports Channel. Covering everything with an engine, Abi used her vibrant and inquisitive nature to dig out the human stories amid the fierce competition.
It is these skills, which make Abi a popular choice for hosting corporate sporting events. Most recently, Abi hosted a 'Help For Heroes' Celebrity, British Touring Car race day at Silverstone, alongside Louise Goodman. Abi is also an Ambassador for Nike Woman, encouraging and inspiring females of all ages of the benefits of fitness.
'Gadget Guru' is a recent addition to Abi's repertoire. You can now catch her presenting exclusive product launches and discussing the latest must-have gizmos with Tim Lovejoy on BBC's 'Something for the Weekend'.
Extreme adventure is Abi's comfort zone and her work in front of the camera has mirrored her pursuit of grueling physical challenges off it. Abi is passionate about running and is an avid member of the East London running club; 'RunDemCrew', exploring the city whilst pounding the streets with other like-minded lycra enthusiasts!
As a former national athletics champion as well as a West of England hockey player, Abi both understands and empathises with the athletes she interviews.
But it is her warmth, intelligence and unique ability to spontaneously capture the moment whilst creating engaging and entertaining rapport with others, which makes her stand out in the field.
Abi has recently filmed her latest instalments of O2 Inside Line for the 2011 Six Nations. She also presented at the 2011 World Cup horse racing event in Dubai. Abi has filmed features for both O2 and the RFU at the 2011 London Rugby 7's.
Abi is currently filming the new entertainment show Driving Wars for Dave and the Discovery Channel which she co-presents with Colin Murray.
