    Donal MacIntyre is an award winning broadcaster whose work has been shown in over 75 countries. Best known for his fearless journalism MacIntyre has paved a path into adventure and travel broadcasting with the BBC, Discovery and Five with Wild Weather, The Edge of Existence and the "Return of the Tribe'. He has lived with the Bedouin and the Insect Tribe of Papua New Guinea as well as the Sea Gypsies of Borneo for shows as diverse as 'The Edge of Existence' and 'The Return of the Tribe' among others.

    He has reported from the war zones of Beirut, Burma, been kidnapped in the Congo and shot at during the civil war in Yugoslavia. His undercover investigations into football hooligans and his campaigning work for care homes made him a national figure. He has hosted live and recorded programmes for the BBC, ITV, Five and Sky.

    He is currently a regular presenter on terrestrial TV, radio and a familiar commentator in the national newspapers.

    He won new friends as the surprise runner up in 'Dancing on Ice' and recently stared in Discovery's 'Alone in the Wild'. MacIntyre is one of the country's most versatile reporters jumping from Newsnight reports on the English Riots to stand in host for Matthew Wright.

    He is currently working on a series for Sky's Crime and Investigation network and two cinema feature documentaries for international release in 2012.

    He was a former international canoeist for Ireland, competing at World Championship level and has three children. He is also an avid climber. Educated in Dublin, London, he is a former Reuters Fellow in Oxford University and is presently visiting Professor of Criminology at Birmingham City University.
