5 x 30min series looking at the impact of the weather on 20th century warfare, in which presenter Vladimir Jancovic experiences extreme weather zones throughout the world. Jancovic then undergoes a series of punishing physiological and psychometric tests in laboratory to evaluate the effect of extreme weather on his own body. Discovery Channel

Writing Scotland (Writer/Director)
Television's first comprehensive history of Scottish Literature. Special challenges: to work within a limited budget and realise selected texts in a visually evocative way; communicating these ideas to a composer to produce an original score. Hopscotch Films for BBC Scotland and BBC 4

Days that Shook the World (Producer/Director)
Subjects covered include: the murder of the Tsar and his family, the end of the Berlin Wall, the splitting of the atom, and the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Challenges: selecting appropriate archive, working on drama reconstruction abroad on a very tight budget and schedule, and getting believable performances from non-actors. BBC 2

Sword and the Cross (Director)
4 part dramatisation of Scotland's turbulent religious history. The challenge here was to make the subject matter as visual as possible. This included extensive battle re-enactments, hangings, burnings at the stake, and disembowelments etc. - all on a limited, documentary budget. BBC Scotland
