Sharon Marshall

Sharon started her TV career in 1999 with ITV2’s SoapFever, where she appeared each week to give soap gossip. From here she moved over to ITV1’s This Morning in 2003 where she is the resident TV Expert. She has a weekly slot giving soap gossip and reviews, and is the presenter for the show’s behind the scenes features on TV shows and its red carpet reporter for Award ceremonies. She also acted as roving reporter for ITV2’s British Soap Awards coverage in 2008.

In addition, Sharon has appeared as a panelist on Loose Woman, hosted the Bride of the Year series for Wedding TV in 2008, and took part in ITV1’s Celebrity Fit Club in 2006 where she lost two stone. She also appeared in the C5 series Trust Me I’m A Beauty Therapist, and had a cameo role as a TV reporter in the Picture of Dorian Gray feature film in 2007.

Sharon has also worked as a journalist for 18 years – starting her career as a technology reporter for the Guardian. She then worked as an IT reporter for technology trade magazines, before making the leap to become a showbiz reporter for the national press.

She was TV Editor for the News of the World, reporter and columnist for the Sunday People and a show business reporter for the Express and Daily Star. She wrote a diet and fitness column for The Sun in 2006, and then spent a year charting her life as a singleton in the column ‘No Sex in The City’ which also ran in The Sun. She now writes features for the paper handing out advice for single girls on how to deal with smug couples.

In 2007, Sharon brought out her first book – The Naughty Girl’s Guide to Life – which was co-written with Tara Palmer Tomkinson. The book sold over 100,000 copies in hardback and is about to be launched in paperback in September 2008. It has been translated into two languages and will be launched internationally this year. She also began writing for the Mail on Sunday writing about health, fitness and diet.

Other TV projects include appearances as a TV critic on shows including SoapStar Superstar, Big Brother’s Big Mouth, Coronation Street Secrets, Coronation Street: Hunks, Comic Relief Does Fame Academy, EastEnders: Ricky & Bianca and EastEnders: Christmas Fallout.

In September 2008, Sharon took part in the ITV programme Celebrity Best Dish. To follow, Sharon made a brief appearance on Celebrity Weakest Link, where, unfortunately she was first off and branded a total failure.
